Katie Bassiri, LPCC RPT-S ACAS
Hello! I'm Katie and I'm the owner of The Treehouse. I love working with individuals of all ages, from 0 to 99! And I love supporting new therapists as they enter the workforce. My master's degree is in Counseling and Guidance; in addition, I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Registered Play Therapy Supervisor (RPT-S), and Advanced Certified Autism Specialist (ACAS). I provide supervision for counselors and also am an interdisciplinary supervisor for Social Workers in New Mexico and serve on the board for the New Mexico Association for Play Therapy. I have been supporting children and families in Albuquerque for the past decade, but I am originally from a small town in southern Arizona.
Before opening the Treehouse I had many formative experiences working in residential treatment, schools, and home-based therapy. I consider myself a prescriptive play therapist and utilize a wide range of techniques to support my clients. I utilize play, art, and sand in the majority of the work that I do, but I specifically love Autplay and DIRFloortime. I am a strengths-based therapist and I utilize a person centered approach, always.
In addition to being a therapist, I am also a mom to three Autistic toddlers who have made a strong impact on who I am and how I work with families. My greatest passion is helping support and advocate for those with sensory and learning differences and I work with education and business communities to provide accommodations for individuals to thrive.
