Hi, I’m Amanda! I am an intern here at the Treehouse and am so grateful to be part of this community. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from West Texas A&M University and am currently a second-year Master of Social Work student at New Mexico Highlands University. My career goals are to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist.

Play, creativity, and supporting children have always been central to my life, and they’ve guided my career path. My career so far has been in informal education, mostly in children’s museums. I still work part-time as an Educator at Explora Science Center and Children’s Museum right across the street! Over time, I realized I wanted to connect more deeply with kids I saw struggling, which inspired me to pursue play therapy as a way to support children one-on-one. I value empathy, playfulness, and the belief that every child deserves a safe space to grow and thrive, and I see play and creativity as essential tools for building connection, healing, and hope.

Outside of work and school, I spend most of my time with my husband, two goofy dogs (Kora and Charlie), and our bearded dragon (Carl). I love being outdoors and try to make as much time as possible for camping and hiking. I’m a lifelong Disney fan and have a growing collection of classic Disney VHS tapes. I also enjoy baking, reading, exercising, playing video games (huge Zelda fan here), and discovering new creative outlets.
I am so excited to be here and look forward to getting to learn, grow, and play alongside everyone here!
