Jenna Koors, LCSW
Hi! My name is Jenna (she, her). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a mom, and a hard-core Lord of The Rings fan.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from The University of New Mexico in Sociology and Family Studies and my master’s degree in Social Work from Simmons University. Over the years, I have served diverse populations working in agency-based, home-based, residential treatment, and inpatient settings serving people ages 2 to 92!
In my work, I use a broad spectrum of interventions including evidence-based modalities like (but not limited to) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Theraplay, AARC, Experiential Play Therapy, Sand Tray, DIRFloortime, Neurosequential Model, Solution-Focused Family Therapy, and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am currently working toward certification as a Registered Play Therapist and an Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapist (EMDR). EMDR is a highly effective treatment that relieves symptoms of PTSD, acute stress, anxiety, depression, and somatic disorders resulting from adverse life experiences. Research shows that most participants will experience a 60-90% reduction in symptoms as a result of EMDR treatment.
I am passionate about helping others heal from past traumas and adverse life-experiences. I treat a variety of mental health concerns and work with children, adolescents, adults, caregivers, and families from a trauma informed and attachment-based perspective. I provide support to those with complex emotions and life situations through respect, honesty, and empathy. My professional goals are to facilitate an immersive therapeutic experience that generates healing and inspires internal growth and empowerment!
