Lindsay Lennertz, Psy.D.

Hello, I'm Dr. Lindsay (she/her)! I work with children 3 and up, teens, adults, and everyone in-between, here at the Treehouse! My doctorate in clinical psychology is from Nova Southeastern University, and I then moved from Florida to New Mexico for my predoctoral internship at The University of New Mexico School of Medicine Children’s Psychiatric Center.

In my time as a trainee and licensed psychologist I've worked in inpatient hospital, residential treatment, juvenile prison, outpatient, and in-home/at–school settings. I have the most experience and interest in helping and healing people experiencing developmental and complex trauma, self-harm and suicidality, depression and anxiety, identity discovery and life transitions, family dysfunction, and parenting challenges. I also greatly enjoy being able to clarify the diagnoses underlying complex symptoms by providing comprehensive psychological evaluations for children and teens.

When I meet with my clients, I use a trauma lens, and a person-centered, existential, and family systems orientation is my go-to. I employ a variety of techniques, from Dialectical Behavior Therapy to non-directive play...to sand tray and experiential work. Certified in yoga and trained in trauma-informed therapeutic yoga, I am also continually learning how to effectively incorporate somatic exercises into interventions for wellbeing. Currently, I am focused on personal and professional growth in the areas of racial trauma and social justice.

I would like you to know that I am committed to honoring each unique individual and family I work with, and often draw on my past experiences to understand things, including having been a Spanish teacher and a Peace Corps Volunteer, and my travels and life abroad in Africa, Asia, South and Central America, Europe, and Mexico.
